Ever wondered how safe it is putting your life in the hands of a Doctor?
I recently had some health issues which resulted in being put on various meds as my Doctors tried to guess what was wrong with me as well as turning me into a human kebab having scopes done to determine the cause.
It went from a bleeding ulcer to a shot gall bladder and ended with ISS. I was then put on a popular treatment for ISS- Trepiline; at first I was just thrilled to be feeling a bit better but at what cost?
Trepiline is an antidepressant and whilst I was given a low dose I wasn’t thrilled at taking this drug. So a month and a half into the treatment I noticed something, not only was I constantly tired but my personality and moods were changing.
I am a highly energetic nutter with a loud and larger than life personality and in a month I was quiet and just not myself, so I decided to do some research and low and behold this drug whilst commonly used, treats a possible symptom that causes ISS- STRESS and not the physical condition itself.
I handle stress just fine and yeah I worry on and off and have a few unnatural fears but is it worth flipping the switch on all those crappy feelings if it means flipping the switch all together?
So I did some more research and found that people who live with ISS respond badly to gluten, junk, sugar, spicy food and alcohol. WELL WELL WELL- exhibit A- my ENTIRE LIFESTYLE was just described there! Fancy that!
More reading followed and I discovered that working out, juicing and removing certain foods from my diet could in fact help sort out all the physical symptoms and mediation and yoga could do the rest.
My decision- to ween myself off Trepiline and flip the switch on my lifestyle!
I would rather have crappy feelings on and off and fear silly things than become someone I don’t recognise, so with all due respect Doc.. NO THANK YOU!
Its time to do things the natural way!
