We are 54 days into 2015- leaving us with 311 days left this year.
Time is an ancient and scary concept that we all run our days and lives by.
At the age of 30 you are expected to have done certain things or achieved certain goals because at ‘that time in your life’ it is the done thing.
I am stuck on one thought- who says? Who created this metaphorical clock that ordains the direction of my life? Am I a failure if I have not achieve these goals set by society?
Marc Levy has a brilliant quote on time:
“Imagine there is a bank account that credits your account each morning with $86,400. It carries over no balance from day to day. Every evening the bank deletes whatever part of the balance you failed to used during the day. What would you do? Draw out every cent, of course? Each of us has such a bank, it's name is time. Every morning, it credits you 86,400 seconds. Every night it writes off at a lost, whatever of this you failed to invest to a good purpose. It carries over no balance. It allows no over draft. Each day it opens a new account for you. Each night it burns the remains of the day. If you fail to use the day's deposits, the loss is yours. There is no drawing against "tomorrow". You must live in the present on today's deposits. Invest it so as to get from it the utmost in health, happiness, and health. The clock is running. Make the most of today.”
I may not agree with this phantom timeline dictated by society but I do agree with the quote above, time is precious and we waste it!
I have wasted more time than I care to acknowledge and the worst part is I will never get it back! I can however start making each second count and as the quote says – live in the present.
The thought I want to leave you all with is- while you are alive and kicking you can change and live your life the way you want- so take time by the balls and LIVE!
